This US series is quite the resemblance of Twilight Saga but in a more elaborated package. A human named Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) has fallen in love into Salvatore brothers: Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) who are both vampires. Elena dealing with her heart divided into two hearts always perplexes her. She knows that Stefan is her first love and he’s good, though then Damon is bad, Damon’s always there to protect and to save Elena. On the other hand, the Salvatore brothers actually fall in love with Elena firstly because Elena resembles their both’s first love in the past, Katherine Pierce (Nina Dobrev). As days gone by, the one who truly loves Elena for who she is, is Stefan. Then, later, because of Elena’s pure kindness heart which is very contradicted to who Katherine is, Damon also falls in love with Elena.
It’s been going on five seasons and every season has different major problem. The first season shows how Elena deals with her just knowing Stephan is a vampire and her love in between Salvatore Brothers. The next seasons are getting more intricate like when the doppelgangers show up, the vampires called The Originals are back haunting down, Hybrid against werewolves, witches issues, and travelers as well. Later, Elena whose doppelganger is Katherine Pierce are exchanging the place where Elena becomes a vampire and Katherine who was firstly a vampire becomes a human being.
All I can say is, this series is like supernaturals party all over Mystic Fall. In spite of its dramatic exaggerating stories, it’s still worth to watch and quite entertaining since you’ll find most of the casts are good-looking, especially the one becoming Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Klaus (Joseph Morgan). Furthermore, when you watch this series, you’ll also see and know some more stories about how vampires, werewolves, and witches are always connected. It serves some kinds of histories of them just like how in Twilight the history of werewolves and vampires do not get along is told.
